Remembering a pioneer – Johanna Dohnal in AR

To mark the 25th anniversary of Tricky Women Realities, the festival is presenting a feminist AR intervention in public space, and we are showing Sabine Derflinger's documentary film DIE DOHNAL – FRAUENMINISTERIN / FEMINISTIN / VISIONÄRIN (Dohnal – Minister for Women / Feminist / Visionary) about this exceptional politician.

The history and stories of women have been suppressed, untold, forgotten for centuries... Johanna Dohnal was one of the first feminists in a European government; she was State Secretary and Minister for Women's Affairs. In 1995, Austria finally got rid of Johanna Dohnal, the Minister for Women's Affairs. She was a thorn in their side and inconvenient. JOHANNA DOHNAL - VISIONARY OF FEMINISM pays tribute to this icon of Austrian politics, creating a role model for current and future generations. We see ourselves in her, in her struggles, her victories, her failures. A Film forgetting and for a future of equality.
