TRICKY WOMEN TRICKY REALITIES CELEBRATES ITS 25TH ANNIVERSARY
The festival directors look back on 25 years of festival history, and we do the same with a film program featuring all the festival trailers to date. Taken together, they clearly show that animation is just as diverse and dynamic as the festival itself!

In cooperation with Tricky Women Tricky Realities, we present a joyful selection of current animation works by women and/or genderqueer artists from Austria and around the world! Taken together, the selection offers an insight into the Austrian animation landscape, which has been shaped historically and currently by strong female and/or genderqueer positions.
About the program
Dialogical (self-)portraits as subversive feminist narratives
BY WHAT ITS NEXT TO
In the tension between self-perception and external perception, dialogical (self-)portraits unfold as multi-layered feminist narrative forms. In keeping with the anniversary program FLICKERING SELVES at the festival, we recommend our two short film programs by Maria Lassnig, in which animation also serves as a means of (self-)representation.

Online Festival Passes

There are three types of tickets available for the online program during the Tricky Women Realities Festival: individual tickets for €3.90 per program, an online festival pass for €30 for all online programs, and the WE LOVE YOU online pass for €50 for all online programs, which also supports the festival!

We also offer a discounted price of €10 for all short film programs from the pre-screening program for our pre-screening program before the festival.

Please note: These tickets only apply to programs online, they will not be accepted at the cinema—cinema tickets are available via Tricky Women website or at the Metrokino.

Together with the international animated film festival Tricky Women Tricky Realities, we present films from the festival and an exclusive preview program in the Events VOD CLUB. Here you can watch animated short films by international artists if you can't make it to the festival in person or if you want to delve deeper into the subject matter.


Tricky Women Tricky Realities Festival




Since 2001, Tricky Women Tricky Realities has been held at the beginning of March—around International Women's Day—focusing on animated films by women and/or genderqueer people. This gives the festival a prominent position in the international festival landscape.

KINO VOD CLUB more than just a streaming portal—as an intermediary between the Austrian cinema landscape, filmmakers, and film lovers, it is important to us that Film can still be found after their time in theaters. That's why you support your favorite cinema with us with 1/3 of every rental!
